Drawing on technologies developed for The Virtual Brain (www.thevirtualbrain.org), we create a unique neuromorphic artificial neural network model of the individual's brain. Using the methods of the Human Connectome Project, white matter tractography provides an estimate of the wiring diagram of the brain, and functional connectivity fMRI suggests the dominant functional networks that emerge within this connectional architecture.
New methods of characterizing the electrical networks of the cortex provide time dynamic tracking of the ongoing cerebral activity. The neuromorphic emulation is then trained to predict the electrical field activity of the individual's brain, during sleep and waking periods. In addition, patterns derived from analysis of the neuromorphic emulation are used to manipulate the brain through Geodesic Transcranial Electrical Neuromodulation (GTEN) through the two-way interface.
